Trekking Grade

Easy Trekker Icon

Treks of this grade are typically of short duration do not require you to have previous trekking or mountaineering and technical experience. As with all treks there is a requirement that you be in good physical health and be able to hike for between 4 to 6 hours per day carrying a day pack across mixed terrain.

Easy to Moderate Trekker IconTrekker Icon

Treks of this grade are typically for anyone with a good level of fitness as they may involve a more hilly terrain and an element of adventure! You may want to consider getting in to better shape ahead of your trip to maximize your enjoyment. As with all treks there is a requirement that you be in good physical health and be able to hike for between 4 to 6 hours per day carrying a day pack.

Treks of this grade typically require more energy and present more of a challenge. Trekking days are between 5 to 7 hours carrying a day pack over hilly terrain. A moderate level of fitness is recommended as is the recommendation to get in to better shape for your trip to maximize your enjoyment. It does not require you to have any previous trekking or mountaineering experience and technical experience.

Treks of this grade are typically for anyone with a strong level of fitness. Trekking days are between 5 to 7 hours carrying a day pack over hilly terrain. Getting in to better shape ahead of your trip is highly recommended to maximize your enjoyment. It is beneficial to have previous trekking experience as well as have a keen sense of adventure!

Treks of this grade are typically for anyone with a strong level of fitness. Trekking days are between 6 to 8 hours carrying a day pack over hilly terrain. Getting in to better shape ahead of your trip is highly recommended to maximize your enjoyment. It is essential to have previous trekking experience as well as some mountaineering and technical experience for the higher altitudes and the potential of snow. Strong physical ability as well as a keen sense of adventure are also a must!

What to bring! Clothing, footwear and equipment requirements will depend on the type of trek but we’ve listed some basics as well as some recommendations for the longer, higher altitude treks.
